A little about The Country Horse

We have been selling online over 12 years. We like to offer mostly new horse related items such as an occassional saddle, saddle pads, blankets, saddle bags, sport boots, reins, halter/bridles, trail stirrups and just about anything needed to tack up your horse. We are honest sellers and hope the people we do business with are honest, also. We try to accurately describe everything we sell. We are located in beautiful north central Tennessee. We love to trail ride and use most of the same items we sell.

Trail Riding is for all ages!!!

People of all ages can trail ride. If you're an older person in good health and want to ride, there's nothing stopping you. A calm, gentle well trained horse is what you need. A riding buddy, a nice place to ride away from cars and 4-wheelers, a saddle bag with all the items you'll need for the day and off you go!! Well, actually, there's more to it than that...you have to either own, borrow or rent the horse. You have to trailer the horse if you want to go riding at a trail riding facility, unless they can supply a horse. You'll need horse gear such as a saddle, pad, bridle, saddle bags. Make sure to wear comfortable clothing! A hat if it's sunny out. Pack your saddle bags with essentials for safety (cell phone, small emergency kit, etc.) and comfort items (food & water for one). If you've just started riding, take it easy the first few rides. It takes awhile to get used to it...balance, sore butt, etc. Make sure you always ride with another person, never alone, especially if you're new at horseback riding. I could go on and on, but need to stop somewhere, so I'll stop here, for now......

Great New Horse Tack Website

We have moved our website to a new server. Lots of new items & sales going on now. We still offer Western tack and trail riding equipment such as saddle blankets, sport boots, girths, reins, stirrups, bridles, bits, saddlebags, horn bags, trail stirrups, seat savers and just about anything needed to tack up your horse. A lot of our leather goods are handmade in Kentucky by an Amish gentleman. We also carry Western style handbags, jewelry, watches, etc.
